This is along the same lines as the girl who had 4 transplants AND gave her heart for someone else...
her lungs and new heart were done even tho her original heart was fine because statistically they found a better survival/recovery rate not having to reconnect the lungs to the heart...
Of course 2 lungs is better than one. But I know a number of people who have had a single lung tx and have done very well. 4 Cfers and 2 NonCfers. all doing well.
But 2 new lungs is always better than one.But you take what you can get. The full panel ( heart and 2 lungs is best IMO.
